Local mentality occurs when, as treasure hunters, we find treasure signs and symbols in our "backyards", or more specifically, in our local areas. What happens is that we tend to think of our local treasure sites as "individual" sites, sites that are unique and separate from other treasures around the country, with their own signs and symbols, etc.
